Editorial Independence Policy

Akhasia: Jurnal Akuntansi Syariah maintains strict editorial independence to guarantee that scholarly publishing decisions remain entirely objective, uncompromised by institutional, financial, political, or personal influences.

Governance Principle. This policy operationalizes the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines on editorial independence and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) principles on editorial governance, ensuring total separation between scholarly editorial decisions and institutional leadership or revenue management.
1

Editorial Authority and Freedom

The Editor-in-Chief holds final authority and complete freedom over the scholarly content published in Akhasia: Jurnal Akuntansi Syariah:

  • Decisions to accept, revise, reject, correct, or retract submissions are based exclusively on scientific quality, originality, empirical validity, and alignment with the journal's focus and scope.
  • Decisions are made without regard to authors' nationality, religion, institutional prestige, seniority, or commercial background.
  • Editorial boards critically evaluate reviewer feedback and make reasoned determinations free from external interference.
2

Relationship with Host Institution & Publishing Partners

Akhasia: Jurnal Akuntansi Syariah is published by STEI Permata Bojonegoro in collaboration with CV Jeoja Word Indonesia:

Clear Administrative Boundaries:
Campus leadership and collaborating publishing partners provide institutional backing, legal shelter, and hosting infrastructure, but do not determine, influence, or veto decisions regarding individual research papers.
Editorial Security:
Editors are appointed based on scholarly expertise. Dismissal or non-renewal cannot be executed arbitrarily as retaliation for editorial decisions that challenge administrative preferences.
3

Independence from Fees, Revenue, and Commercial Interests

Complete Firewalls Between Financial Administration and Editorial Review:
  • APC Blindness: Article Processing Charges (APC) and fee waiver inquiries are processed strictly after editorial acceptance. Reviewers and handling editors evaluate manuscripts without knowledge of author payment capability.
  • No Paid Fast-Tracking: The journal never sells accelerated reviews or guaranteed publication for higher fees. Academic quality cannot be purchased.
  • Prohibition of Commercial Advertisements: The journal displays no commercial banner advertisements, safeguarding scholarly objectivity.
4

Submissions Authored by Editors & Campus Faculty

Editorial board members and faculty of STEI Permata may submit original research, but receive strictly zero preferential treatment:

Independent Delegation:
An editor who is an author or co-author is entirely recused from editorial handling. The paper is assigned to an independent external editor.
OJS System Lockout:
The conflicted editor is locked out of the editorial dashboard for that submission, ensuring they cannot view reviewer identities or confidential peer review notes.
Published Transparency:
Published papers authored by board members clearly disclose the independent handling editor and recusal process.

Commitment to Academic Integrity

The editorial independence of Akhasia: Jurnal Akuntansi Syariah ensures that authors, readers, reviewers, and indexing databases (such as SINTA, Garuda, and Google Scholar) can place full confidence in the impartiality and scholarly rigor of our publications.
